A magical tree home for garden gnomes
Friday, May 7th, 2010
One clever garden design idea that can work really well is that of a magical tree. By choosing a single tree in the garden to be a home for the gnomes, a little magical world of its own can be created without altering the look of the whole garden. A gnome door can be easily attached to the base of the tree and small gnome windows too. A sprinkling of glitter, some solar fairy lights, a chimney, a small stony path? These simple additions create an instant and effective transformation. Actually you don’t even have to have any gnomes if you prefer, leave them up to ones imagination instead.
This newly created secret magical spot can become very popular, especially with children. It offers them encouragement to take an interest in the garden, outdoors, nature and make believe. The youngsters can make it their own special spot in the garden and the idea of gnomes living in a tree in your garden is a simple, charming touch. What about a gnome-sized letterbox for children to post the gnomes a letter or message?
The same idea can be applied to a rockery if one is not fortunate enough to have a suitable tree around which to house your gnomes. Both environments allow for an enjoyable, pleasant expression of creativity and after all, ones garden should be a place where you can be light-hearted and tasteful at the same time.
I am sure that if you follow the advice offered here and apply the universal principles of good design, your garden and gnomes should be able to live together in harmony without causing offence. If not, well maybe you might consider employing the services of a reputable Garden Gnome Consultant as well, to ensure success.
