Hi, I’m 13 and in the recent years, my Halloween costumes have been absolutely rubbish, last year all I had was a black cape because my idiotic brother flushed my costume clothes, makeup, wig and my black contact lenses down the toilet. So basically all I had was a black cape, crappy right. So, this year I was thinking to myself, you know what, maybe I don’t want to go as something scary, I will wear something that will make people laugh. My friend is having a party and I’m very sure that none of the people their will have the same costume as me. Hey there, I have the pair of this cute & funny garden gnome (or garden nome) costumes for my nephews who will go trick or treating with me and want to get within the "theme" but can’t think of any related adult costume.

You could be a pink flamingo. Or a mushroom, flower, or tree.

You could also be a wood nymph or fairy…both are found out of doors, and both are mythical creatures, like gnomes.

You could play up the travelocity connection, and go as a tourist.

I’m going trick-or-treating with my friends this year (next year I’m going to just pass out candy) and I want to be something so COOL but simple and easy to make. Last year I was an eskimo. I wore a bunch of layers with my blue snow coat on top, my blue snow pants, silver boots, braided hair, and my super cute seal hat. This year I was thinking of being a Lays potato chip bag…clear trash bag with head and arm holes, covered in yellow duct tape, printed out Lays logo, printed out chips picture, and printed out nutrition facts on the back. Or I could be a cookie…I don’t know, what do you guys think would be good? A gnome or a dust bunny was also considered but how would I make the beard?

I don’t want to have to spend much this year but I don’t want it to look lame and like I took it out of the garbage. THanks in advance, please no hate comments! I’m looking for good answers here, 10 pts!! THANKS!!

If you want cheap and easy go with the Gnome or dust bunny, you could use elmer’s glue or clear tape along with a couple of bags of cotton balls for either costume.

One year our son wanted to be a Mummy, so we took and old, faded flat gray sheet, tore it into even strips and wrapped him from head to toe, expect his eyes and mouth of course. Used make-up on his eyes, fake blood on his mouth and his costume was a huge hit.

Just another easy and cheap suggestion.

I am looking for ideas on "Matching" toddler Halloween costumes. My oldest (girl) is 4 and my youngest (boy) is 2. I have always dressed them up in a "matching" way for the past two years. They have been little bo-peep and the sheep. Our girl was bo-peep and our boy was the sheep =). and last year I dressed them up as girl and boy garden gnomes.- super cute! This year I am looking at doing the same thing but I don’t know what! I live in North Dakota so at the end of October a lot of times we have snow and if not, it is still REALLY cold. If you noticed, the costumes I mentioned from previous years are long pants, long sleeves, hats or wigs, type of thing. For the girl gnome since it was a dress I put on leggins/tights on my little girl so that her legs were warm. Any way, I am looking for ideas!!! I do NOT want any adult type of costumes please! they are 4 and 2 and want them to look cute not slutty or anything in that matter. So NO: salt and pepper or hotdog and bun type of costumes please.

I want to be a lady gnome for Halloween. I was thinking of just wearing a flannel shirt with a denim skirt, tights, and boots but it seems kind of simple. I don’t really want to sew or make anything besides the hat. Any ideas to make it more…gnome-ish? Thank you!
